The cab
service in the Ahmedabad starts on 7th July 2015, under the leadership of
the transport minister Vijay Rupani. On the same day, 30 taxis, which include
both AC and non AC taxi, ran on the street to provide the service to the
customer.
This cab service comes into existence in Ahmedabad and
Gandhinagar district, and it travels between both the cities.
At that time, the minimum fare cost of the cab will be
Rs. 20. Charge for the taxi will be according to the KM in which Non AC cab
will charge Rs 12 and AC cab will cost Rs 15.
The color of the cab will be off white, which highlights
clearly about AC and Non AC cab. There will be one more color variation in
which AC cab that it has cubes of saffron and green on the body and, Non AC
will have orange and green stripes.
Growth of cab service in Ahmedabad

The taxi market has
witnessed outstanding growth over the last 6-7 years in India and approximately
three years in the Gujarat state and is growing at 15-20% per annum.

becoming into the market and expect the market to grow by 30-40% per year incoming
time. The objectives of the study were to understand the acceptance of cab
services, the factors that affect the passengers to rent a cab, the foremost
preferred brand, and hence the expectations of passengers from a cab service
alongside the demographics of passengers having any effect of their choice and
preferences.

The study found that
there's a little level of acceptance of cab services during this city. Easy
availability, comfort, convenience, and straight forward booking procedures are
several factors that attract people to rent a cab service rather than other
transport. Ola and Meru were the foremost preferred brands as per the study.

The study found that
there's no significant relationship between the demographics of the passengers
and their choice, preferences, and expectations except one that youngsters
preferred Wi-Fi facility during a cab and middle-aged expected refreshments
during a taxi.
Conclusion
OLA CAB and MERU CAB are capturing the essential market
share comparing to other brands like TAXI needless to say and other brands. The
respondents prefer Ola and Meru Cab Services, and their rate of growth is
consistent within the city. Most of the knowledge about the various brands of
Cab Services was either through outdoor advertising or radio. Most of the
respondents use Cab Services for Airport devour and drop service, thanks to the
easy availability of the service, high comfort level, convenience & they
also think that Cab Services is quicker as compared to other modes of transportation.
